The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 in the NBA Finals . They defended their NBA title from the previous year and were NBA champions for the thirteenth time.
Season Notes
- The Vancouver Grizzlies played their final season in Vancouver . From the 2001/02 season they played their home games in Memphis .
- The NBA All-Star Game took place at the MCI Center in Washington DC . The selection of the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference 111-110. For MVP was Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers selected.
