- Berlin / Germany : The Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit ( SPD ) takes office as President of the Federal Council .
- Istanbul / Turkey : The semi-finished aircraft carrier Varyag passes the Bosporus after clarification of the financial details by the People's Republic of China . The Ukraine sold the project in 1998 to a businessman from Macau , who promised a purely civilian use of the ship.

- Singapore / Singapore: In the general election, the People's Action Party wins 82 of the 84 seats to be allocated in parliament .
Sunday November 4th 2001
- Los Angeles / United States : At the award ceremony for the Emmy TV award , u. a. the director Mike Nichols , born in Berlin in 1931, received an award. He is the ninth person to win Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards . At the end of the event, Barbra Streisand sings the song You'll Never Walk Alone from the musical Carousel in honor of the victims of the attacks on September 11th .
Tuesday November 6, 2001
- Weidenberg / Germany : In the wake of the anthrax attacks in the USA , anthrax alarms are increasing in Europe. In individual cases, possible victims are quarantined for hours . However, these are fake crimes with ineffective powders.
Wednesday November 7, 2001
- Berlin / Germany : The Schröder cabinet approves the application to send the Bundeswehr to Afghanistan alongside the United States . The application is to be submitted to the Bundestag in December. Its approval and thus the first foreign deployment in a war of aggression since the founding of the Federal Republic are considered certain.
Saturday November 10, 2001
- Canberra / Australia : In the general election , voters decide on all seats in the House of Representatives and over 40 seats in the Senate . The coalition of the Liberal Party (LPA) and the National Party , which supports the incumbent Prime Minister John Howard (LPA), receives an absolute majority of the seats in the House of Representatives with slight gains. In the Senate, the LPA remains the strongest force ahead of the Labor Party .
- Vienna / Austria : At the second awarding of the Nestroy Theater Prize , Judith Engel is recognized as best actress and Sven-Eric Bechtolf as best actor.

- New York / United States : The plane crash of American Airlines flight 587 265 people are killed.
Friday November 16, 2001
- Berlin / Germany : In the Bundestag , Chancellor Gerhard Schröder ( SPD ) puts the vote of confidence . If more than 50% of the elected officials mistrust him, he can apply to Federal President Johannes Rau to dissolve the Bundestag, but Schröder receives the trust of the MPs. He sees this as confirmation of his foreign policy and the desired Bundeswehr participation in NATO - Operation Enduring Freedom .

- Sofia / Bulgaria : President Petar Stojanow is voted out of office after one term. In a direct election, the majority of Bulgarians elects the candidate of the Socialist Party Georgi Parvanov as his successor.
Monday November 19, 2001
- Singapore / Singapore: World Toilet Day launched by the World Toilet Organization is celebrated for the first time. It is intended to eliminate taboos around the world and to remind people that more than 40% of the world's population do not have access to sufficiently hygienic sanitary facilities.
Saturday November 24, 2001
- Bassersdorf / Switzerland : The pilot of the aircraft type Avro RJ ends the Crossair Flight 3597 with a controlled landing in a wooded area. While nine people survive 24 inmates are killed, among them the pop - singer Melanie Thornton .

- Vatican City : Pope . John Paul II speaks Léonie Aviat holy that in 1868 the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales co-founded.
Tuesday November 27, 2001
- Tokyo / Japan : In the game for the soccer world cup for club teams , Bayern Munich from Germany wins 1-0 after extra time against the Argentinian club Atlético Boca Juniors from Buenos Aires . Samuel Kuffour scored the winning goal .
