Ceylon took part in the 1960 Summer Olympics in the Italian capital, Rome, with a delegation of five male athletes in five competitions in four sports.

The youngest athlete was the cyclist Maurice Coomarawel (20 years and 137 days), the oldest athlete was the track and field athlete Linus Diaz (26 years and 353 days). It was the fourth Summer Olympics for the country.
