The 2004 Olympic champion in 200 meters back, Kirsty Coventry, qualified in Beijing in 2008 after the Summer Olympics in 2000 and 2004. So far she has won the only medals for Zimbabwe at the Olympic Games. After Coventry had only ever won the silver medal in the 100 meter back, 200 meter medley and 400 meter medal, she finally managed to win her first gold medal at the Olympic Games over the 200 meter back.
