Sudan took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . It was the 13th participation in the Summer Olympics. The Sudan Olympic Committee nominated six athletes in three sports.

The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Abdalla Targan .
