In the singles Kim Clijsters won against Mary Pierce 6: 2 and 6: 1. In doubles, the pairing Barbara Schett / Patty Schnyder won 6: 3 and 6: 2 against Silvia Farina Elia / Francesca Schiavone .

The qualification for the Open Gaz de France 2004 took place from February 7th to 9th, 2004. Four qualifying places for the singles and one qualification place for the doubles were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
