The Ladies German Open 2004 were a ladies clay court tournament. The WTA tournament in Category Tier I was part of the WTA Tour 2004 and took place from May 1st to 9th, 2004 in Berlin .

Amélie Mauresmo won the singles title against Venus Williams by walk-over. The pairing Nadja Petrowa / Meghann Shaughnessy won the double final 6: 2, 2: 6 and 6: 1 against Janette Husárová and Conchita Martínez .

qualification

The qualification for the Ladies German Open 2004 took place from May 1st to 3rd, 2004. Twelve places were played out for singles and one place for doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main field.
