Peledui ( Yakut and Russian Пеледу́й ) is an urban-type settlement in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in Russia with 5243 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 950 km as the crow flies west-southwest of the republic capital Yakutsk on the left bank of the Lena , directly above the confluence of the eponymous, left tributary Peledui .
Peledui belongs to Ulus Lenski and is located about 170 km southwest of its administrative center Lensk . The settlement is the seat of the municipality (gorodskoje posselenije) Possjolok Peledui, which also includes the village of Krestowski Lessoutschastok, 35 km northeast (downstream) on the left Lenaufer.
history
The settlement was founded in 1933 together with a base and repair yard belonging to the Nördlicher Seeweg head office . In the same year, Peledui received urban-type settlement status.

From Peleduy road link is for 25 also km upstream on the left Lena River opposite the mouth of the Vitim located settlement Vitim , where a small airport is located. From Vitim a road leading to about 100 km north-eastern Talakan oil field , which is about halfway from the planned route of the main highway A331 Vilyuy River between Ust-Kut and the road Lensk - Mirny is crossed. As an alternative route, the road from Vitim to Peledui is to be extended in a north-easterly direction down the left Lenaufer to Lensk.
