Rouillac ( Breton : Rioleg ; Gallo : Rólhac ) is a French commune with 395 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc and the canton of Broons . The residents call themselves Rouillacais (es) .
geography
Rouillac is located about 55 kilometers west-northwest of Rennes and 37 kilometers southeast of Saint-Brieuc in the southeast of the Côtes-d'Armor department.
history
Finds from the Neolithic Age show that the place was settled early. In the Middle Ages, a moth emerged near today's Bougueneuf forest . The parish was part of the Broons district from 1793 to 1801. It has also been part of the canton of Broons since 1793 . Since 1801, Rouillac has been administratively part of the Arrondissement of Dinan. First mention of Rouillac by name under its current name around 1472/1475.

The increasing mechanization of agriculture and the high number of those who died in the First World War led to a drop in the number of inhabitants to the lows of recent times.
