Saulnières ( Breton : Saoner ; Gallo : Saunierr ) is a French municipality with 773 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine in the region of Brittany . Saulnières belongs to the Arrondissement of Redon and is part of the canton of Bain-de-Bretagne (until 2015: canton of Le Sel-de-Bretagne ). The inhabitants are called Saulniérois .

Saulnières is located about 22 kilometers south-southeast of Rennes . Saulnières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chanteloup in the north and north-west, Brie in the north and north-east, Janzé in the east, Tresbœuf in the east and south-east, Le Sel-de-Bretagne in the south and south-west and Le Petit-Fougeray in the west.
