The 2005/06 season was the 72nd season of Serie A1 , the highest Italian ice hockey division . Champion became the fifth time in the history of the HC Milano Vipers .
mode
In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 42 games. The league was then divided into two groups with four participants each. The two best-placed teams in these groups qualified for playoffs in which the champions were played off. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. According to their placement in the main round, the teams received a certain number of bonus points for the second phase of the season.
