Colli Euganei (wine)
The Colli Euganei (Eng. "The Euganean Hills") are a wine-growing region in the province of Padua , Veneto region , Italy . The hilly area southwest of Padua has enjoyed the status of a Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC for short) since August 18, 1969 . The last update was published on March 7, 2014.
Growing area
Cultivation and vinification may be carried out in the province of Padua in the following municipalities: Arquà Petrarca , Galzignano Terme and Torreglia ; parts of the following municipalities also belong to the cultivation area: Abano Terme , Montegrotto Terme , Battaglia Terme , Due Carrare , Monselice , Baone , Este , Cinto Euganeo , Lozzo Atestino , Vò , Rovolon , Cervarese Santa Croce , Teolo and Selvazzano Dentro .
In 2017, 32,663 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced.

The following types of wine are produced within this appellation:
Blending wines ( Cuvées ):
- Colli Euganei Bianco (also as sparkling wine ): must consist of at least 30% of the Garganega grape variety . At least 30% Tai and / or Sauvignon Blanc and 5–10% Moscato Bianco and / or Moscato Giallo must be included. A maximum of 30% other white grape varieties may be added (individually or together).
- Colli Euganei Rosso (also known as “Riserva”): must consist of 40–80% Merlot grapes . 20–60% Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Cabernet Franc and / or Carménère must be included. A maximum of 10% Raboso Piave and / or Raboso Veronese may be added.
Almost single origin wines:

Colli Euganei Moscato made from at least 90% Moscato Bianco - also as a sparkling wine . A maximum of 10% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Padua may be added.
- The following wines must contain at least 85% of the grape variety mentioned. A maximum of 15% other analogous grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the province of Padua may be added.
- Colli Euganei Serprino - also as Frizzante and Spumante ("Serprino" is the local name for the Glera grape variety )
- Colli Euganei Tai
- Colli Euganei Sauvignon
- Colli Euganei Chardonnay
- Colli Euganei Manzoni Bianco
- Colli Euganei Pinello - Frizzante and Spumante
- Colli Euganei Merlot
- Colli Euganei Cabernet , can consist of the grape varieties Cabernet Franc , Cabernet Sauvignon and / or Carmenère (individually or together).
- Colli Euganei Cabernet Sauvignon
- Colli Euganei Cabernet franc
- Colli Euganei Carmenère
- Colli Euganei Raboso , can consist of the Raboso Piave and / or Raboso Veronese grape varieties (individually or together).
