geography

The hamlet is at an altitude of 240  m above sea level. NHN on the Nutscheid . Distant neighboring towns are Litterscheid in the northeast and Hönscheid in the south.

history

In 1712 there were 21 people living in 4 families in Stockheim : Adolph Müller, Bertram Wirts senior and junior as well as Margarethe Severing's widow.

In 1809 the place had 35 Catholic residents. In 1910, the households Ackerer Peter Wilhelm Balensiefer, Ackerer Johann Engels, Ackerer and landlord Anton Hüllmann, Ackerer Gerhard Jung, factory worker Karl Lomberg and Ackerer Johann Rolland were listed for Stockum. So the village was dominated by agriculture.

Up until August 1, 1969, Stockum was part of the Winterscheid community . In the course of the incorporation of Winterscheid into Ruppichteroth, Stockum became a part of the municipality of Ruppichteroth.
