The Superliga 2016/17 was the eleventh season of the top Serbian league in men's football . It started on July 22, 2016 and ended on May 21, 2017.
Defending champion was FK Red Star Belgrade .
mode
The mode introduced in the 2015/16 season was retained.
After the basic round, the league was divided into two finals, so that the teams in places 1 to 8 reached the championship round, in which they played in seven play-off games for the championship. The clubs in ranks 9 to 16 played against relegation in seven play-out games, the last two were relegated directly. The teams were credited with half of the points scored from the preliminary round, which took place in 30 match days, with half points rounded up. After all, at the end of the final round, each club played a total of 37 games.
