Te amo is a song by R&B singer Rihanna . The song was released in Europe as the third single from Rihanna's fourth studio album Rated R on June 11, 2010. The song was produced and written by the songwriter duo Mikkel Eriksen . In 2009, before the album release of Rated R , the song was released on the Internet. In the USA the song Rockstar 101 was released as a single instead of Te amo . One reason the song wasn't released as a single in the US is because the video clip was considered too sexy and provocative there .

Music video
The music video, like many of Rihanna's videos , was shot by director Anthony Mandler . The video was first shown on May 28th. In the video, the plot of the song is replayed. In addition to Rihanna, the second woman is the French top model Laetitia Casta . Because the video is considered too sexy, it was banned in the US and the whole song was not officially released there. Instead, Rockstar 101 was released.
Live performances
Te amo was part of Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth Tour, which started in summer 2010 .
