history
Until the church is planted
Bronze Age barrows near Badhaus Ast from 1400 to 1200 BC refer to the early settlement of the municipality . In the Urnfield Period (1300 to 750 BC), large fortresses were built like that of Schlossberg, which was built around 450 BC. Was burned down. From the following era of the Celts there are Viereckschanzen in Appersdorf and Badhaus Ast. The Keltenschanze ("Römerschanze") near Bad Ast dates from around 100 BC. The ditch and the wall behind it of the approximately 100 meters long and 70 meters wide Viereckschanze is well preserved on all four sides.
It was first mentioned in documents as Tiufenbach in 1136, and in 1261 a person liable to pay interest was mentioned de Teufenbach. The Gemendorfer register from 1524 lists Tiffenbach as the first among the Echoing branches. About Teuffenpach (1614) and Tieffnpach (1752) the spelling Tiefenbach prevailed from 1811.
Tiefenbach belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Erding Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In 1803 it was assigned to the Landshut district court . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
20th and 21st centuries
The community was temporarily merged into an administrative community with Kumhausen. In the northeast of the municipality, border corrections were made several times with the neighboring municipality of Eching in order to obtain areas for the construction of the sewage treatment plant and for the expansion of the sports field.
The partnership between the municipalities of Tiefenbach and Lusern in Trentino was established in 2001.
Incorporations
Before the territorial reform in 1971, the political community of Tiefenbach only included Tiefenbach and Golding. The community of Ast joined on April 1, 1971 voluntarily. On May 1, 1978, the area around Zweikirchen, which previously belonged to the municipality of Münchsdorf, was incorporated into the municipality of Tiefenbach.
