Bochum-Stiepel water room

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stiepel water room is a former elevated tank in the Stiepel district of Bochum . It was built in 1896 and supplied large parts of Bochum. The water was pumped up from the Stiepel waterworks over a height difference of 80 m . Decommissioned in 2008, part of the hall was preserved for cultural purposes. The rest was replaced by a 12,000 m³ new container from 2008 to 2010.
