The Nettebach pumping station is a hydraulic structure built by the Emschergenossenschaft in Dortmund in 1951 .

The pumping station ensures water retention in the north of Dortmund in the 1,032 hectare catchment area of the Nettebach , near Westhusen Castle . Due to subsidence caused by mining , the brook in the upper reaches, which was built between 1913 and 1932, had sunk so far that an area of 150 hectares was permanently under water. In order to be able to erect the pumping station in difficult terrain, it was founded using a 10.6 meter high caisson made of 530 m³ concrete, which was lowered 10 meters into the earthwork.

The Nettebach pumping station, which is part of theme route 13 of the Route of Industrial Culture , has a maximum delivery rate of 6,500 liters per second.
