history

Until 2003 the farm was privately owned and operated as a riding stables. In 2004 the Quellhof became the property of the Emschergenossenschaft in Essen. By the end of 2005, the restoration and reconstruction of the buildings in their original state took place for several million euros in accordance with monument conservation principles.

The buildings are used as a training center , meeting and training center and for exhibitions on the water management and industrial history development of the Emscher River.
