Emscherquellhof formerly Lünschermannshof

The Emscherquellhof (formerly Lünschermannshof ) is a half-timbered courtyard in the western Hixterwald area of Holzwickede, east of Dortmund . On the courtyard area at Quellenstrasse 3 is about 160 m above sea level. NN the source of the Emscher .

history

The homestead, built in 1801, consists of the main building, an expanded stable building and a detached former bakery . The source area of the Emscher is located in an enclosed pond in the inner courtyard of the half-timbered property. The inlet to the source pond is underground from the main building.

Until 2003 the farm was privately owned and operated as a riding stables. In 2004 the Quellhof became the property of the Emschergenossenschaft in Essen. By the end of 2005, the restoration and reconstruction of the buildings in their original state took place for several million euros in accordance with monument conservation principles.

The buildings are used as a training center , meeting and training center and for exhibitions on the water management and industrial history development of the Emscher River.

The Emscher spring is the location for the route of industrial culture on three themed routes Mythos Ruhrgebiet , On the way to the blue Emscher and brine, steam and coal .
