Wyssokoje ( Russian Высокое , German Schilleningken , 1938–1945 Hainau ) is a small town in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Nesterov in Nesterovsky District .

Geographical location

Vysokoye is located in the north of the Nesterow district on the regional road 27A-059 (ex R510 ), which leads from Dobrowolsk (Pillkallen / Schloßberg) to Nesterow (Stallupönen / Ebenrode) .

The Rajonstadt is also the nearest train station on the Kaliningrad – Chernyshevskoye railway line for onward travel to Lithuania (section of the former Prussian Eastern Railway ).

history

Between 1874 and 1945 the former Schilleningken was a municipality within the Jucknischken district (1938–1945 Föhrenhorst , Russian: Bolschoje Mostowoje, no longer exists today). He belonged to the district of Stallupönen (1938–1945 Ebenrode ) in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

Until 1945 Schwirgallen (1938–1945 Eichhagen , Russian: Sawodskoje) was the nearest train station and was on the route from Tilsit to Stallupönen (1938–1945 Ebenrode ).

On June 3, 1938 - with official confirmation from July 16, 1938 - Schilleningken was renamed "Hainau".

As a result of the Second World War , the village came under Soviet administration. In 1950 the place received the Russian name Vysokoye and was at the same time classified in the village soviet Savetinsky selski Sowet in Nesterow Raion . From 2008 to 2018 Vysokoye belonged to the rural community Ilyushinskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Nesterow.

Before 1945, Schilleningken or Hainau belonged to the parish of the church Groß Warningken with a predominantly Protestant population (the place was called Steinkirch between 1938 and 1946 , in Russian: Sabolotnoje, it no longer exists today). It was in the church district Pillkallen (1938-1946 Schloßberg , Russian: Dobrowolsk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Klaus Wegner .

In the 1990s, a new Evangelical congregation was established in Babuschkino (formerly Groß Degesen ), seven kilometers away , which is integrated into the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER). The responsible rectory is that of the Salzburg Church in Gussew (Gumbinnen) .
