Yamaha XJR
The Yamaha XJR is a motorcycle model from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha and has been on the market since 1995. The XJR is available as a 1200 4PU and since 1999 as a 1300 RP02. In Japan, the XJR is also available as a 400.
Facelift
The Yamaha XJR has been changed a little again and again through model updates. The XJR 1200 (type: 4PU) was still fitted with tire sizes 130/170. The tires with the Michelin Pilot Road "S" 120/180 are common among drivers. Other possible tire brands are: AVON, Metzeler, Bridgestone, Pirelli. The manufacturers also have the required "approvals" for these tires.
The XJR 1300 (RP02), which has been built since 1999, changed the tire sizes to 120/180, it had different brakes at the front (YZF-R1 brake) and a different rear. The clutch springs have been reinforced compared to the XJR 1200. The series tires do not have a particularly good reputation, so that here, too, there is usually a switch to Michelin Pilot Road, Pilot Power, Metzeler, Bridgestone or Pirelli. From 2000 the engine was painted silver instead of black.
When the XJR 1300 (RP06) came onto the market in 2002, the tank and seat had become narrower, the rear brake had also changed, and there was secondary air injection. In 2004 there was then the XJR 1300 (RP10), which did not change very much apart from the larger exhaust silencers with U-Kat and electronic immobilizer. For the model year 2007 there was again a new model (RP19), which is equipped with an injection system , G-Kat and a silencer (4in1 system). In 2015 there was the last facelift with a significantly smaller 14.5l tank, shortened rear and smaller headlights. There were two versions: One without handlebar cover with normal handlebars and one with handlebar cover, seat cover and fender made of carbon. This variant was called Racer and had clip-ons. Production of the XJR was discontinued at the end of 2016.
There are also numerous specialist manufacturers of this motorcycle who have dedicated themselves to this "big bike" and offer design and tuning parts.

cult
A real cult has developed around the XJR over time . There are various round tables that have come together to form “XJR Friends Germany”. Once or twice a year, meetings are organized by one of these regulars' tables. The XJR scene is mixed, there is everything from "Standard" to Fighter that you can do with the XJR. There is also a lively exchange of views in internet forums.
