Alburikent ( Russian Альбурике́нт ) is an urban-type settlement in the Republic of Dagestan ( Russia ) with 12,413 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
Alburikent 3 extends approximately up to 5 km in a straight line west of the center of the Dagestani capital Makhachkala , one of the city district and the administration of the Rajons Sovetsky, one of the three administrative districts of the city, assumed. The settlement is directly adjacent to the city, is located north and northeast of the Tarkitau mountain range and a good 3 km from the Caspian Sea .
history
The village of Alburikent has been known since the end of the 19th century, when a good 500 Kumyks lived there. During the Stalin era , in 1944, most of the inhabitants of Alburikent and the surrounding villages were forcibly relocated to the Khassavyurt Raion , while former inhabitants of Dagestani mountain villages came to Alburikent.
From the 1950s, some of the previous residents returned. From the 1980s in particular, the place expanded considerably along the western access road to Makhachkala. In 1992 it received urban-type settlement status.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are farms, utilities and construction companies in Alburikent. The place extends along the western approach from the M29 trunk road to Makhachkala. There is a connection to the city center by buses and shared taxis .
