history

Nowy Kjachulai ("New Kjachulai") was founded in 1988 on an area that was previously partly occupied by swamps and partly by allotments. First, former residents were settled there between Alburikent and Tarki at the foot of the Tarki-Tau and in the same year partially destroyed by a landslide settlement Kjachulai . Since 1994 the place has had the status of an urban-type settlement.

traffic

At the western edge of the settlement, the southern approach to Makhachkala (Akhmedchan-Sultan-Prospect) leads from the R217 Kawkas trunk road (formerly M29, also part of the European route 119 ), to the east the Rostov-on-Don  - Baku railway line , which has no train station there ( the closest is that of Makhachkala). As the de facto outskirts of Makhachkala, Nowy Kjachulai is integrated into the local public transport system, which there is mainly handled with marshrutki (shared taxis).
