Mixed of the Australian Open 2012 .

The defending champions were Katarina Srebotnik and Daniel Nestor . Both wanted to compete with other partners this year, but both pairings withdrew before the start of the competition. In the final, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Horia Tecău narrowly prevailed against Jelena Wesnina and Leander Paes . For both of them it was the first Grand Slam title of their careers. Paes missed winning two titles within two days after his triumph in the men's doubles .
