The Cadillac Evoq was a concept vehicle from the Cadillac division of General Motors and was formally unveiled at the 1999 North American International Auto Show . Major parts of the Evoq were realized in series in the XLR . The project began under General Manager John Smith. The Evoq should show the new brand image of Cadillac and influenced the later series models, such as the CTS , the SRX or the XLR. The car was built in 1998 by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters Inc. in California . Its engine was the first from the Northstar series for rear-wheel drive.

The car was 4282 mm long, 1834 mm wide, 1247 mm high and had a wheelbase of 2756 mm.
