The Cadillac ELR is a plug-in hybrid that was built in series by the Cadillac division of General Motors from late 2013 to early 2016.
The car was shown under the name Cadillac Converj as a concept study at the North American International Auto Show in 2009, and at the same show in 2013 as a production version. In 2015 there was a model change of the Chevrolet Volt; At the same time, the sale of the Opel Ampera was stopped. In Europe, the Cadillac ELR was to represent this model line as its sister model. However, this did not happen. Instead, production was stopped.
Drive system
The car is equipped with the drive system of the Chevrolet Volt - a battery pack, an electric motor with a maximum output of initially 162 kW, later 174 kW and a four-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum output of 84 hp (63 kW) connected to a generator , collectively called the GM-Voltec electric drive system and with a system output of initially 155 kW, later 174 kW. The range with exclusively electric drive is 60 km and the top speed of the vehicle 171 km / h. The two-door coupe with front-wheel drive can be charged in four and a half hours.
