The Cadillac Model D was a model built by the American automobile manufacturer Cadillac in 1905.

The Model D was Cadillac's first four-cylinder car; apart from the successors of the model D, the brand's program otherwise comprised only single-cylinder vehicles with the Cadillac Model B and its derivatives until 1908.

The Model D was only available as an open touring car with a fixed body in the rear, in which there was space for three passengers behind the driver and front passenger (in the single-cylinder models , this tonneau body was removable).

The Model D was powered by an in-house four-cylinder engine that transmitted its power to the rear wheels via a three-speed planetary gearbox. The slightly long-stroke engine (bore × stroke: 111.1 × 127 mm) with individually cast cylinders and ascending flow carburetor developed 30 hp. The body sat on a steel ladder frame, the suspension was provided by two semi-elliptical leaf springs on the front and rear axles. The mechanically actuated drum brakes that acted on the rear wheels were operated by hand levers, the brake pedal acted on the drive shaft.

At $ 2,800, the Model D was more than three times the price of a Model B four-seater. The Model D was built 156 times; In 1905, Cadillac produced a total of 4029 units of all series.
