The Chevrolet National Series AB was a lower middle class passenger car that was only manufactured by Chevrolet in model year 1928 as the only model series and successor to the Capitol Series AA . The vehicle was introduced in January 1928 and was available with eight different bodies as a 2-seat roadster, 2-seat coupé, 2 or 4-seat sports convertible (coupé with hardtop), 2-seat full convertible and 5-seat sedan (Coach ) available with two doors each. With four doors there was the 5-seat touring car, the 5-seat sedan and a landaulet with five seats. The wheelbase had grown by 4 ″ to 2,718 mm. Like the previous model, the cars had overhead control four-cylinder in-line engines (OHV). The machine with 2,802 cm 3 but now developed a displacement bhp at nine higher power of 35 hp (26 kW) at 2200 min -1 . The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a single-disc dry clutch and a manual three-speed gearbox. For the first time at Chevrolet, all four wheels had mechanical brakes. New for this year were windshield wipers that were operated with the negative pressure from the engine.

The sales prices were all around 30, - US- $ lower than the Capitol and were between 495, - and 715, - US- $. After only eleven months and 1,193,212 vehicles, the successor International Series AC was presented.
