Dubovica (Hungarian Tarcadobó or older shortened Dobó ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with a population of 1,457 (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Sabinov , a district of the Prešovský kraj and is part of the traditional Šariš landscape .
geography
The municipality is located in the north-western part of the Šarišská vrchovina mountain range on the Dubovický brook , a tributary of the Torysa . The little more than 17 km² large municipal area is hilly and borders on the following neighboring towns: Renčišov , Ďačov , Lipany and Rožkovany . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 420 m nm only two kilometers south of the city of Lipany and is also 14 kilometers by road from Sabinov and 31 kilometers by road from Prešov .
Petrovence (Hungarian Pétermező ), a village that was incorporated into Dubovica in the 19th century , also belongs to the municipality .
