The place arose in the early 14th century and was first mentioned in writing in 1323 as Luchka and was initially owned by the Tekule family before it came under the dominion of Kamenica Castle in 1345 . In 1427 40 porta were recorded, so it was a large village by the standards of the time. The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
