Sabinov (until 1927 also Sobinov in Slovak ; Zeben in German , Kisszeben in Hungarian , Cibinium in Latin ) is a city in eastern Slovakia .
It was first mentioned in 1248. In addition to the main town Sabinov, Orkucany (incorporated in 1986) is also part of the town .
The place received international attention through the film production "Obchod na korze" ( The shop on the parade ), which was awarded an Oscar .
In 2017, Sabinov was awarded the honorary title of “ Reformation City of Europe ” by the Community of Evangelical Churches in Europe .
