Daletice (until 1927 Slovak "Dalečice" or "Dalecice"; Hungarian DELETE ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 97 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Sabinov , a district of the Prešovský kraj , as well as to the traditional Šariš landscape .

Daletice

The municipality is located in the central part of the Šarišská vrchovina mountain range in the source area of ​​the Ďaletický creek in the catchment area of ​​the Veľká Svinka . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 495  m nm and is nine kilometers from Sabinov .

Neighboring communities are Jarovnice in the north, Svinia in the east and Chminianska Nová Ves in the south and west.

history

Church in Daletice

Daletice was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1320 as Deletha and as a developed place with its own parish. It was owned by the Mersey dynasty and the territory of Svinia. In 1427 22 porta were recorded according to a tax register. In the 17th century the village was owned by the Szinyei and Mercel families . In 1789 the village had 19 houses and 119 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 17 houses and 123 inhabitants who were employed as carters, farmers and linen weavers.

The place in Sáros County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. After the Second World War, part of the population worked in industrial plants in cities such as Prešov, Bardejov and Košice .

According to the 2011 census, 99 inhabitants lived in Daletice, 98 of them Slovaks . One resident gave no information about ethnicity .

72 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church and 23 residents to the Evangelical Church AB. Three residents were non-denominational and the denomination of one resident was not determined.
