church
Evangelical
In today's area of Gmina Ełk there were three Protestant parishes with the parish churches in Baitkowen (Baitenberg), Klaussen and Stradaunen before 1945 . They were incorporated into the church district of Lyck in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today there is no longer a Protestant church in the municipality. Parishioners living here now belong to the parish in the town of Ełk , which uses the Baptist church there on the former Steinweg . The community is a subsidiary of the parish in Pisz ( German Johannisburg ) in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
Roman Catholic
Before 1945 the Catholic church members were parish in the parish church in the town of Lyck in the deanery Masuria II (seat: Johannisburg ) in the diocese of Warmia before 1945, today there are a total of six parish churches belonging to three deaneries in Ełk : Bajtkowo (Baitkowen / Baitenberg) , Chełchy (Chelchy / Kelchendorf) , Klusy (Klaussen) , Nowa Wieś Ełcka (Neuendorf) , Regielnica (Regelitzen / Regelhof) and Straduny (Stradaunen) . In 1992 the town of Ełk became a bishopric, to whose diocese the parishes belong. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .
Memorials
In Bartosze (Bartossen) has German War Graves Commission , the German war cemetery Bartossen (Bartosze) created for almost 14,000 German war dead (number of 2011).

Streets
Two major national roads run through Gmina Ełk and connect the region with three voivodships and the surrounding cities:
- the Landesstraße 16 in east-west direction and
- the national road 65 (former German national route 132 ) in a north-south direction.
Two voivodeship roads lead from the neighboring regions into the municipality:
- the Provincial Road 656 from the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ) and
- the Voivodschaftsstraße 667 from the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Incidentally, the individual places in the municipality are networked with one another by secondary roads and country lanes.
rails
Three railway lines (with eight stations in the municipality) and one small railway line (with three stations) run through the municipality. However, regular traffic is only operated on one of these routes. The small train only runs for tourist purposes.
- Railway line Ełk – Tschernjachowsk ( German Lyck – Insterburg ) with the railway stations Przykopka (Przykopken / Birkenwalde) and Chełchy (Chelchen / Kelchendorf)

- Railway line Czerwonka – Ełk ( German Rothfließ – Lyck ) with the railway stations Mołdzie (Moldzien / Mulden) and Bartosze (Bartossen / Bartendorf)
- Railway line Olsztyn – Ełk ( German Allenstein – Lyck ) with the railway stations Bajtkowo (Baitkowen / Baitenberg) , Nowa Wieś Ełcka (Neuendorf) and Barany (Barannen / Keipern) .
The railway line of the former Lycker Kleinbahnen or today's Ełcka Kolej Wąskotorowa runs through the Gmina with the railway stations Mrozy Wielkie (Groß Mrosen / Mrossen / Schönhorst) , Regielnica (Regelitzen / Regelhof) and Kałęczyny (Kallenczynnen / Lenzendorf) .
