Florian Tudor

Florian Tudor (born May 23, 1973 in Brăila ) is a former Romanian rower who won a world title.

Athletic career

In 1993, the 1.93 m tall Florian Tudor took fifth place in a two-man without a helmsman at the Nations Cup, a forerunner to the U23 World Championships . Six weeks later, the 1993 World Championships in the adult class took place in Račice u Štětí . Tudor finished ninth with the Romanian four-man without a helmsman . At the 1994 Indianapolis World Championships , Tudor took part in two boat classes. In the coxed four won Valentin Robu , Iulică Ruican , Viorel Talapan , Florian Tudor and helmsman Marin Gheorghe 0.29 seconds ahead of the boat from the United States. All rowers from the four also took part in the final in the eight , where they won the bronze medal behind the boats from the United States and the Netherlands. In 1995 Tudor only came in eighth, who finished fifth at the World Championships in Tampere . In the 1996 Olympic season, Tudor was not part of the Romanian eighth.

In 1997 Tudor competed at the World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette in a four without a helmsman and in an eight. In the four, Dorin Alupei , Claudiu Marin , Cornel Nemțoc and Florian Tudor won the bronze medal behind the British and the French. All four rowers won the silver medal behind the boat from the United States in the eighth. At the 1998 World Championships in Cologne, Tudor only rowed in eighth and won the bronze medal behind the boats from the United States and Germany. In 1999 Tudor won the World Cup regattas in Hazewinkel and Vienna with the Romanian eighth . At the World Championships in St. Catharines , the Romanian eighth finished fourth. The following year, Tudor finished eighth in sixth place at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In 2001 Tudor took fifth place in the four-man team at the World Championships , the following year Tudor was only used in the run-up to the two-man team at the 2002 World Championships .
