Valentin Robu (born January 17, 1967 in Săbăoani , Neamț County ) is a former Romanian rower , who was second in the 1988 Olympics in the four with helmsman and second in the eight in the 1992 Olympics . At world championships he won gold twice, silver three times and bronze three times.

Athletic career

The 1.93 m tall Valentin Robu achieved his breakthrough to the top of the world at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul when he won the Olympic silver medal behind the four-man with helmsman from the GDR together with Dimitrie Popescu , Ioan Șnep , Vasile Tomoiagă and helmsman Ladislau Lovrenschi .
