Geox-TMC (formerly Footon-Servetto , Fuji-Servetto , before that Scott-American Beef , Saunier Duval-Scott and Saunier Duval-Prodir ) was a Spanish cycling team .

The team was founded in 2004 by team manager Mauro Gianetti and took part in the UCI ProTour until 2010 as the UCI ProTeam . The team competed in the 2011 season as a Professional Continental Team . At the end of the 2011 season, the team was dissolved because the team operator Grupo Deportivo GM Bicicletas could not find a new sponsor after the withdrawal of the main sponsor Geox , an Italian shoe manufacturer.

The team was equipped with bikes from Scott until the turn of the year 2008/2009 , and since 2009 the bikes have been provided by Fuji.

Since 2008, the team has been repeatedly involved in doping scandals, which resulted in frequent changes of sponsors. Then moved Saunier Duval back after the then team captain Riccardo Ricco during the 2008 Tour de France doping had been convicted. The bicycle manufacturer Scott initially announced that it would continue to sponsor the team, but later also terminated its support. From 2011, the team only had a license as a Professional Continental Team and drove under the name Geox-TMC . Despite prominent riders in the team such as the former tour winner Carlos Sastre and the third of the Tour de France 2010 , Denis Menschow , the team was surprisingly not invited to the 2011 Tour de France .

For the Vuelta a España 2011 , the team received the starting authorization via a wildcard and here the team managed a bang a few weeks before the breakup. Juan José Cobo , who wanted to end his cycling career in the middle of 2011 and had to be persuaded to continue, won the difficult 15th stage with the goal on the Alto de Angliru single- handedly. He took the lead and was able to save 13 seconds after Madrid from his narrow lead. This overall victory at the Vuelta was therefore the greatest success of the team overall.
