French Rugby Union Championship 1962/63

The 1962/63 season was the 64th edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 56 teams in the top division (today's top 14 ).

The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group stage, in which eight teams played against each other in seven groups. The four best in each group as well as the four best fifth placed entered the knockout round. Sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals followed. In the final, which took place on June 2, 1963 in Parc Lescure in Bordeaux , the two semi-final winners met and played for the Bouclier de Brennus . Here sat Stade Montois against the US Dax through and won the only previous title in club history.
