French Rugby Union Championship 1961/62
The 1961/62 season was the 63rd edition of the French Rugby Union Championship. It comprised 56 teams in the top division (today's top 14 ).
The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group stage, in which eight teams played against each other in seven groups. The four best in each group as well as the four best fifth placed entered the knockout round. Sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals followed. In the final, which took place on May 27, 1962 at the Municipal Stadium in Toulouse , the two semi-final winners met and played for the Bouclier de Brennus . The SU Agen prevailed against the AS Béziers and won the championship title for the third time.
