The handball GDR league of men 1981/82 was the top division of the season in indoor handball in the GDR , with it the GDR champions were determined for the 32nd time.
Season course
The 1981/82 season began on October 17, 1981 and ended on May 15, 1982. During this time, the teams competed against each other in home and return matches. In the last game, SC Magdeburg managed to win the title hat-trick by beating SC Empor Rostock, who had tied the points up until then , in which it won the third championship in a row after 1980 and 1981 . The only newcomer, BSG Motor Eisenach , was also the best company sports association with sixth place, four points behind the fifth SC Dynamo Berlin . The bottom two of the table had to relegate after three years SG Dynamo Halle-Neustadt and after two years in the league, BSG Chemie Premnitz .
