The Huachiew Chalermprakiet University ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย หัวเฉียว เฉลิมพระเกียรติ ; short: HCU) is a private university in Amphoe Bang Phli , Samut Prakan Province , a southern suburb of the Thai capital Bangkok .
history
Huachiew Chalermprakiet University was preceded by the Huachiew School of Obstetrics. It was founded in 1941 by the Sino-Thai Poh-Teck Tung Foundation and offered courses in nursing and obstetrics. In 1981 the school was given the status of a private college with one faculty. The Huachiew College was expanded to become a university in 1992, since then it has been called Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. The university now has nine faculties and a graduate school.
