The National Institute of Development Administration (short: NIDA, Thai สถาบัน บัณฑิต พัฒนบริหารศาสตร์ , RTGS : Sathabanbanthit Phatthanaborihansat, "Graduate Institute for Development and Administrative Science") is a public institute for postgraduate education in Bangkok , Thailand . It is subordinate to the Ministry of Education . NIDA was accredited in November 2012 by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
history
The National Institute of Development Administration was founded on April 1, 1966 at the suggestion of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX.) With the help of the Department for Technical and Economical Cooperation (Department for Technical and Economical Cooperation), the Rockefeller Foundation , the Ford Foundation and the Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities (Mucia).
At the beginning, the NIDA was an autonomous institute with its own budget and courses of study assigned to Thammasat University . The Department of Public Administration of Thammasat University, parts of the training work of the National Economic and Development Board and parts of the Training and Education Institute of the National Statistical Office were later merged into one university.
