Walailak University
The Walailak University ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย วลัย ลักษณ์ , English: Walailak University) is a public university in the southern region of Thailand , which has received an unusually high degree of autonomy .
Walailak University is located in Tha Sala District ( Amphoe ) , Nakhon Si Thammarat Province .

About 6,000 students are enrolled at Walailak University and are looked after by 800 university members.
Tuition fees range from 12,000 to 22,000 baht .

history
Walailak University was founded in 1992 and officially opened in 1998. She is named after Princess Chulabhorn Walailak .
The current president is Thai Tipsuwannakun.
The colors of the university are orange and purple. Orange is the traditional Thai color for a Thursday in Thailand. On this weekday, Princess Chulabhorn Walailak was born. Purple was chosen as the color of the Nakhon Si Thammarat province, which in turn is derived from the reformer and innovator of the education system in southern Thailand, Abbot Phra Rattanatchamuni, who was active under King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910).
