The Mahanakorn University of Technology ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย เทคโนโลยี มหานคร , MUT) is a private university in the Bangkok district of Nong Chok , Thailand .
history
The university was opened in Nong Chok on February 27, 1990 as Mahanakorn College, the founding father was Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom . Sitthichai was previously Dean of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang . The aim was to train engineering students because of the extreme shortage of engineers and the rapid rise in technological development in Thailand. Because of its success in both education and research, the college was quickly promoted to a full university with the new name Mahanakorn University of Technology. The university is the first and only in Thailand that has developed its own experimental video observation and amateur radio satellite ( TMSAT ).
