The Rajabhat University Sakon Nakhon ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏ สกลนคร , in the English usage Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University , short SNRU ) is a public university in the Rajabhat system of Thailand .
location
The campus is located in the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Sakon Nakhon about 6 kilometers northwest of the city center of Sakon Nakhon on the expressway to Udon Thani . Sakon Nakhon is located in the northeast region of Thailand, approximately 70 kilometers from the Laos border .
history
Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University was founded on July 17, 1964 as a teaching college / pedagogical school. Six years later, in 1970, the school was named the Sakon Nakhon Teachers' College, and in 1975 the college offered a bachelor's degree for the first time. Subsequently, in 1995 the king announced that all teachers' colleges across the country would be renamed Rajabhat institutes before they were given university status on June 15, 2004.
General
The university currently has 14,801 students enrolled in six faculties, with 113 international students. The university maintains international relations and exchange programs with: Edith Cowan University , in Perth ; Washington State University , at Pullman ; University of Quang Binh , in Quang Binh ; University of Quang Tri , in Quang Tri .
President of the university is Mr. Panya Mahachai ( Thai นาย ปัญญา มหาชัย ).
Symbols
The university colors are green and pink, the university tree is the tube cassia Cassia fistula . The university's emblem consists of the colors: blue, green, gold, orange and white, each color having its own meaning:
- The blue stands for the kingship and establishes the reference that the name Rajabhat Universities comes from the king.
- The green stands for the 40 locations of the Rajabhat universities and the exquisite natural environment.
- The gold means intellectual wealth .
- The orange stands for the local arts and cultural adornment of all Rajabhat University locations.
