The University of Maha Sarakham ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย มหาสารคาม , English Mahasarakham University , short: MSU) is a public university in the province of Maha Sarakham in the northeast region of Thailand . With around 45,000 students, it is the largest university in Isan (northeastern Thailand).
history
The university was founded in 1994 as an independent public university, after it was founded in 1968 as the Maha Sarakham College of Education and had been a regional campus of the Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok from 1974 .
location
The university has two campuses. One is in the town of Maha Sarakham , the other is in Tambon Kham Riang, Amphoe Kantharawichai , about eight kilometers off the road to Kalasin . Due to the limited training opportunities in the region, the university developed very quickly, so that smaller ancillary facilities were soon created, for example in Udon Thani and Yasothon .
