The Rajabhat University Maha Sarakham ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย ราชภัฏ มหาสารคาม , in English usage Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University , RMU for short ) is a public university in the Rajabhat system of Thailand .
location
The university campus is located in the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Maha Sarakham . Maha Sarakham is located in the heart of the northeast region of Thailand.
history
Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University was founded in 1925. In 1954 it got the traffic jam of a training school for teachers, in 1962 it was appointed as a teaching college / pedagogical school. The first bachelor's degree was offered as early as 1974. In 1992 she got the status of Rajabhat Institute Maha Sarakham ; further Bachelor programs were added. The first master’s course was offered in 1997 in cooperation with Kasetsart University . After further development of the campus and the creation of new study opportunities, the college was named a university in 2004.

The president of the university is Somchai Wongkasem ( Thai รอง ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สม เจต น์ ภู ศรี ). The chairman of the university council is Nitsai Wetchachachiwa ( Thai นาย นิ ส สั ย เวช ชา ชีวะ ).
Symbols
The university colors are: green and red, the university tree is the Malabar lacquer tree ( Butea monosperma ). The university's emblem consists of the colors blue, green, gold, orange and white, with each color having its own meaning:
- The blue stands for royalty and makes reference to the fact that the name Rajabhat Universities comes from the king.
- The green stands for the 40 locations of the Rajabhat universities and the exquisite natural surroundings.
- The gold means intellectual wealth .
- The orange represents the local arts and cultural adornment of all Rajabhat University locations.
