The 1995/96 season was the 51st regular season of the International Hockey League . During the regular season, the 19 teams played 82 games each. In the play-offs, the Utah Grizzlies prevailed and won the second Turner Cup in their club's history.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Orlando Solar Bears were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The San Francisco Spiders were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Denver Grizzlies were relocated to Salt Lake City , Utah , and changed their name to Utah Grizzlies.
- The San Diego Gulls were relocated to Los Angeles , California and changed their name to Los Angeles Ice Dogs .
- The Kalamazoo Wings changed their name to Michigan K-Wings.
