Katharina Heyer

Katharina Heyer (born April 25, 1983 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ) is a German actress .

Life

Heyer is the daughter of a judge and a teacher. Early on she had pronounced preferences for music and art and spent longer stays abroad in the USA and Sweden . She passed her Abitur in 2002 at the Blaubeuren Evangelical Seminary .

Heyer completed her acting training from 2003 to 2007 at the Berlin University of the Arts . After graduating, she was a member of the permanent ensemble of the German Theater in Göttingen until 2011 . In her first theater season she appeared on stage as Portia in The Merchant of Venice and as Helena in The Trojans, among others . In 2008 she received the young talent award of the "Förderverein Deutsches Theater Göttingen". Other leading roles at the Deutsches Theater were the title roles in The Marriage of Maria Braun (2009) and in the world premiere of the theatrical version of the novel Die Mittagsfrau (2010) and Lady Macbeth(2011). She played the nightclub singer Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret . At the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin she appeared as a singer and instrumentalist at the concert evening The Johnny Cash Songbook .

Katharina Heyer began working for film and television while still studying. The feature film Sooner or Later with Her was shown in the 2007 Locarno International Film Festival competition . She appeared on television several times in the crime series Tatort and between 2007 and 2009 she had a recurring role as coroner Dr. Niethnagel in the Schwerin Police Call 110 episodes with Uwe Steimle . In the ARD fairy tale film The Wise Farmer's Daughter , she played the bad cousin in a comedic role in 2009. In a leading role in the episode she was seen in 2011 in the episode Blood Sisters from the ZDF crime series Ein starkes Team . In the same year she shot a leading role for ZDF alongside Nico Rogner and Henriette Richter-Röhl in the television film The Seed Trader based on the historical novel of the same name by Petra Durst-Benning and played the leading role in a film from the Inga Lindström series. In the ZDF psychological thriller The Woman Behind the Wall (2013), she embodied the title role, according to FAZ, as " Femme fatale , as you seldom see on German television."

Katharina Heyer is mother of a son born in October 2008 and lives in Berlin.
