La Fermeté is a commune with 655 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nevers and the canton of Guérigny (until 2015 Saint-Benin-d'Azy ).

La Fermeté is located about 15 kilometers east-southeast of Nevers in central France . La Fermeté is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-aux-Amognes in the north, Saint-Benin-d'Azy in the northeast, Limon in the east, Beaumont-Sardolles in the southeast, Saint-Ouen-sur-Loire in the south, Imphy in the west South-west and Sauvigny-les-Bois in the west and north-west.
