Gimouille is a municipality with 459 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in central France in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . Gimouille belongs to the Arrondissement of Nevers and the Canton of Nevers-3 (until 2015: Canton Imphy ). The inhabitants are called Gémoliens .
geography
Gimouille is located about seven kilometers southwest of Nevers at the confluence of the Loire and Allier rivers . Gimouille is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marzy in the north, Challuy in the east, Saincaize-Meauce in the south, Apremont-sur-Allier in the southwest and Cuffy in the west.
